AIS Childrenswear Buyer and our resident Kidswear expert Annmarie Collie-King talks us through the colours, trends, and themes you can expect to see at INDX Kids when it returns on 29 - 30 January with an exciting showcase featuring over 140 brands.
From loose-fit sweatshirts, dungarees and boiler-suits to wardrobe staples and made-to-last outerwear, for 2023, suppliers are approaching kidswear in a much more inclusive way and there is also a strong drive towards reducing, reusing, and recycling (thumbnail image:Pigeon Organics).
With kidswear brands championing gender neutrality and embracing unisex fashion, clothing can be more easily passed-down to younger generations and as a result, clothing has more longevity, and the industry as a whole can become more circular and sustainable.
TOP TIP: Comfort and durability are key - look out for chunky corduroys, soft sweats and knits, and luxe basics that can be layered.
The colour palette is reflective of the theme - so anything goes. Look out for versatile neutral hues through to bright rainbow shades.
