INDX Retail Insights

With a host of expert speakers, INDX Retail Insights webinars took place 16 -17 March.

INDX Retail Insights March 2021

In the absence of being able to unite the industry through our usual timetable of in-person shows, it was important for us to find another way of supporting our community. We are delighted to have worked with a formidable selection of retail experts on a series of free webinars which we successfully delivered as our first programme of INDX Retail Insights on 16 and 17 March.

There is no doubt that retail has witnessed unchartered challenges over the last twelve months, but it was reassuring to discover a common thread running through all our speaker sessions; that of an optimistic outlook full of retail opportunity and we would like to thank all our speakers, not only for giving-up their time to participate but for also producing such inspirational and insightful content.

Day 1 highlights

We launched the comprehensive two-day schedule with a brilliantly impassioned webinar led by the ‘Consumer Champion’ himself, Martin Newman, who discussed ‘changing consumer behaviour’, sounded a Claxton and summarised the fluctuating retail landscape with the more than appropriate phrase ‘shi(f)t happens’!

This paved the way for a thought-provoking day of discovery which included a sustainability focused session from Seasalt Clothing, a fascinating look at Bira’s recent campaigning from its Chief Exec. Andrew Goodacre and a Brexit update from logistics experts Arron Nicholson & Rob Lawry, before we ended day 1 with an exciting overview of consumer & lifestyle trends delivered by Unique Style Platform’s Jane Kellock.

Day 2 highlights

Day two started with a bang and first-up was digital marketing guru Naddy Onions who led us on an eye-opening path through the ‘minefield’ of social media (which sparked a lively stint of audience Q&A!), followed by retail & training consultant Helen Masters who explained how to deliver the wow factor in face-to-face retail and discussed the do’s and don’ts of customer engagement with passion and knowledge.

The afternoon sessions opened with a spirited slot from Alchemist Business Consulting Founder Glenn Regan, who shared his ‘5 simple ways to win at retail’ which was followed by Katy Hoare from British lifestyle brand Joules who showed us how to increase sales through effective visual merchandising before the programme came to a close with a highly informative session on up-skilling buying & merchandising practises from Sally Fenwick.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the ‘live’ shows at Cranmore Park when they recommence this summer and, in the meantime, we hope you found this series of INDX Retail Insights helpful and enlightening.
