HISTORY OF THE BRAND

The Peter Gribby brand was born on fertile ground: Nottingham's early prosperity was forged in the textile industry. Established in 1985 from the family home in Nottinghamshire, Peter Gribby began his journey as a men’s knitwear brand with a range of only 8 sweater designs, back then father and son headed out on the motorway with a range each, one to the east, one to the west and proudly returned armed with orders from independent retailers across the country.

Initially known as a sweater house, the brand has consistently expanded and developed its products and ranges to reflect market trends and consumer behaviours and continues to speak to a classic knitwear, shirt and polo look.

DECISION TO INTRODUCE ECO-CONCIOUS PRODUCTS

In a world awakening to the environmental impacts of fast fashion, the call for change resonates with the team at Peter Gribby louder than ever, and committed to playing their part, they are gradually introducing more and more recycled, plant based, and sustainable fibres to their collections.

Having first introduced their range of Seawool® knitwear in AW23, this was followed by a collection of Coolmax Eco Made ® sweaters in SS24.

For AW24 the brand has further expanded its Seawool® range to include a variety of different weights and styles, including a bang-on-trend 3 button knitted polo in a finer gauge.

In addition, the AW24 collection features shirts made from fully recycled cotton and polyester, and the brand's future plans include working with their raw material suppliers to find more sustainable and innovative eco-friendly practices.

ABOUT SEAWOOL® - KNITWEAR FROM THE OCEAN

Peter Gribby's seawool® is setting a new standard for sustainable knitwear.

Made using receycled PET plastic bottles combined with polyester made from discarded oyster shells, Seawool® is not only environmentally conscious, but also luxuriously soft and comfortable.

Beyond its green credentials, Seawool® is also gentle on the skin, and provides warmth and breathability - no compromise on style or comfort.
