Buyers embrace INDX Woman as first UK womenswear show of 2024

INDX Woman recently returned to Cranmore Park on 31 January-1 February 2024, representing the first time in the UK show calendar that retailers could view new ranges from over 120 brands across an expertly curated product mix featuring fashion, footwear, and accessories.

Organised by Associated Independent Stores (AIS), the UK’s leading buying group for Fashion, Home, and Leisure, James Crabtree, Head of Fashion at AIS was pleased to report an increase in attendance for the second season in a row:

"INDX Woman is always well-attended by our AIS Members and its been great to welcome a raft of new boutiques and indies too. We saw a great increase in footfall at the July 2023 show and we are delighted to report a further double-digit percentage increase this season. Everyone has been on the look out for something new, and this is defintely something we focused on when we put togeher the exhibitor line-up. We brought together a strong core of key-returning brands and we've added over 25 new brands to the mix since July 2023."

One such brand making its debut was US Polo Association and agent Reiss Speight had this to say:

"We’re focusing on wholesale now, and the last INDX Man show was a big success so we’re trying INDX Woman. We’ve already spoken to an independent department store chain and some indies, which is good, and we’ve also written orders. I think we’ll be back in the summer – buyers want consistency and to put names to faces, and building relationships is important to us.”

Lee Wood, wholesale account manager at returning exhibitor Joe Browns commented:

“INDX Woman is a serious buying show for us. There's been a good buzz about the place, bearing in mind it's been quite a difficult season for a lot of stores and everyone has seemed pretty positive.”

INDX Shows are reknowned for pre-vetting registrations in order to maintain a professional, order focused show and this format continues to pay-off for visiting buyers such as Claire Wright, owner of Gemini Woman:

“You literally just see the brands you want to see, there’s no general public or students here, it's just trade. Because there are a lot of independents coming to INDX Woman you get more honest conversations about if it [trade] has been quiet, or if sales have been better with one brand than another, and people are happy to share that information.”

Over 70% of exhibiting brands have already expressed an interest in returning to the next edition of INDX Woman which takes place at Cranmore Park from Sunday 21 - Tuesday 23 July 2024 and visitor registration is open
